Tatsuto Komiyama is Manager of Astronaut Medical Operations Group / Associate Principal Engineer, JAXA.
He engaged in research on developing radiation measurement instrument and completed master’s degree of technology in Waseda univ. in 1995. He got a job in Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) when JAXA established in 2003 andtook the current position in 2016.
Regarding radiation protection, he contributed to developing the first guideline of radiation protection for Japanese International Space Station (ISS) astronauts from 1997 to 2001.
He is developing strategies of R&D on crew health and performance for coming exploration missions in the present.
